It might not be historic, but the Talkeetna Dragonfly Guest Cottage has seen its share of Talkeetna days dating back to the 1940s where the original building (now the Susitna Summer Suite living room) can be seen in old aerial photographs. The cottage has since gone through a number of additions and renovations and has housed a good number of Talkeetna families before opening as a guesthouse (formerly called Carol’s Cottage) in 2006.
Located one street off Main Street in downtown Talkeetna, the Talkeetna Dragonfly Guest Cottage borders Talkeetna’s treasured historic district and is easy walking distance (less than a minute in some cases) to gift shops and restaurants as well as both the Talkeetna and Susitna rivers.
The Susitna Summer Suite (room 1 calendar) is the Dragonfly’s private ground floor suite and offers a comfortable living room with satellite TV, a full kitchen and bath, wireless high speed internet and one bedroom with queen bed and a second bedroom with a full bed.
The Window Tree Walk-up (room 2 calendar) is our second floor mini suite with private entrance at the back of the cottage. Light and airy, the suite offers a separate bedroom with queen bed, a full bath and a living area with a kitchenette. Wifi, DVD player (no satellite). As the name implies, guests need to climb a set of stairs (as well as carry bags to the back of the cottage), and we do not recommend the suite for travelers with mobility issues. A gate is provided at the top of the stairs for travelers with young children.
Large party? Rent both suites (which can connect via a locking interior door) as the Dragonfly Guest Cottage.

Reservations require a deposit of one night’s stay. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, as well as personal checks. Cancellation policy: There will be a $25 cancellation service fee applied to any reservation. If you need to cancel your reservation, please give at least 72 hours advance notice. With less than 72 hours notice, the deposit may not be refundable.

Stroll through history down streets where miners, trappers, and riverboat captains once walked and see the old buildings in our nationally registered historic district. Watch a plane land on the Village Airstrip and smell the green of the birch and cottonwood leaves and see the sun shine at night.
